This year 2020 has been a beautiful year in reverse, starting from the Amazon wild fires in January, the outbreak of the Corona Virus, the black live matters rioting and even the Lebanon fire outburst isn't it a wonderful year indeed? August the 19th of every year has been set apart to salute the people that solely and truthfully commit their time, money and properties into humanitarian services.
This year's theme which is 'REAL LIFE HEROES' has been dedicated to the health workers.
The present global pandemic is one of the most complex and challenging threats the world has faced. Now more than ever, we need to rise to that test. Volunteers step forward to do that. Carrying forward this dedication to Human dignity and worth is not the burden of anyone, individual, community or generation. We have seen individuals step forward to help and take on the burden and bear it through the most difficult challenges that we face.
These people which includes; the health workers, government, Non-Governmental organizations, security personnels, and every single individual who has put in effort in one way or the other, are the world's Humanitarians, whose performance and efforts we celebrate today as we observe the World Humanitarian Day.
We also can be a Hero by showing compassion, giving, reaching out with the little resources we have to the people who genuiely needs all the help and support they can get, most especially the Persons With Disability (PWDs).
The change starts from us, and we should also ensure we practice safety measures by;
1. Washing our hands regularly;
2. Sanitizing our hands;
3. When going out we should use face mask or face shield;
4. And practice social distancing.
Doing all these helps us fight the virus(Corona Virus) and conquer it, coming out stronger and also be a Real life Hero in our little ways.
Remember, "the future is accessible"
HAPPY WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY!!!
